A problem that occurs in most developing country such as Indonesia, is the many diseases caused by infections. Japanese papaya plants (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) contain compounds which are considered to have potential as antimicrobial agents for treating infections. Antifungal and Antibacterial are compounds that can inhibit and kill the growth of fungi and bacteria, thereby preventing infection. This study used fractions from Japanese papaya leaf (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) that had undergone a compound isolation process using the maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent, namely the n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction and butanol fraction. The results of the study showed that the most effective fraction in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria was the butanol fraction with a concentration of 7.5%. The most effective fraction in inhibiting the growth of Tricophyton rubrum fungus was the ethyl acetate fraction with a concentration of 7.5%. Keywords : Papaya Japanese (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius), Staphylococcus aureus, Trichophyton rubrum.
