This study examines the socioeconomic transformation of local communities associated with the presence of Taman Love Tourism in Moya Village, Ternate City. The study addresses how the development of tourism activities is associated with changes in livelihoods, employment opportunities, income, social conditions, environmental conditions, and community security around the destination. A descriptive qualitative design was employed, involving 11 informants consisting of nine vendors, one ticket attendant, and one grounds maintenance worker. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation and were subsequently analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis based on Miles and Huberman. The findings reveal a shift in livelihoods from agriculture and household activities toward tourism-related trade and services. Informants’ monthly income increased from approximately IDR 2,000,000 to IDR 3,000,000 – 4,000,000, while weekend earnings could reach approximately twice those earned on weekdays. Children’s education remained relatively secure, interactions among business operators were cooperative, housing conditions were relatively good, and the destination remained secure, although waste problems caused by some visitors persisted. These findings demonstrate that local tourism transformation is multidimensional and underscore the importance of destination development that strengthens economic benefits for local communities while simultaneously improving sustainable environmental management.
